The year 2002 marked the "Silver Anniversary" for McGinty. John Ferguson, Don Moore and Dave Hickey have been performing together for over 25 years with an ease that is rare in traditional maritime music. They have a way of taking standards and subtly turning them into energetic romps or melancholy ballads, yet each tune is unmistakably McGinty.

Folk Music Artists McGinty Throughout their career McGinty has shared the stage with some of the legends of folk music including John Prine, The Chieftans and The Kingston Trio. They have taken their show to every corner of Canada including the arctic, south of the border to the U.S.A. and have performed in Iceland and Ireland.

McGinty's latest CD "Sea Songs" is the group's 8th full length recording. All of the McGinty albums over the years have been showcases for the group's ability to move effortlessly through jigs & reels, traditional maritime songs, and contemporary favourites.

Anyone who has seen McGinty live knows the energy, talent and sense of good times they bring to the stage. They have a way of making the smallest pub feel like a concert or the largest festival feel like a kitchen party. The way they do it is really quite simple - they are McGinty.
